WHAT IS THE PTA?
The Parent Teacher Association (PTA) is a registered charity run by volunteer parents and teachers. The PTA is an active and integral part of Bovey Tracey Primary School whose aim is to support and contribute to the life of the school and the school's educational processes for all those who learn there. We do this through providing fund-raising, social and community events.
As a parent or guardian of a child or children at Bovey Tracey Primary School or if you are one of the staff, you are a member of the Bovey Tracey PTA.

WHAT DOES THE ASSOCIATION DO?
The Association has a meeting once every half-term. During the meetings we discuss fund-raising events and various other matters that affect the school and the children who attend it. It is a reality that school budgets are continuously under pressure and never more so than at the present time. The PTA's fundraising goes to enabling the school to provide new and improved resources and facilities for its pupils, which would not usually be provided for, or covered, by the Local Authority. These have undoubtedly had a positive beneficial impact on all of our children’s' educational experiences.
WHY SHOULD YOU GET INVOLVED?
Remember it is YOUR Association, and it can only continue to do all the great things it does if YOU join in.
HELPING OUT
Most parents these days have many demands on their time. The majority of parents work in some capacity and it is appreciated that time is limited. However if every parent gave just a few hours of their time per year then the Association would have all the help and support needed. We do not expect parents to help at every event, but you can take great satisfaction from knowing that any help given will benefit the school and ultimately YOUR child.
HOW CAN YOU HELP?
We are endlessly seeking out new and innovative ways of raising money or fundraising initiatives. If you would like to get involved or find out more message us on our Facebook page www.facebook.com/BoveyTraceyPrimaryPta
There are many ways you can help. Here are a few examples;
Donations – we have many generous parents who donate items for our various fund-raising events, e.g, cakes, bottles and craft items. Maybe you too could make a donation for the next event.
WHY NOT DONATE TIME?
•Help wrap prizes/Christmas presents.
•Man a stall at the Summer Fayre.
•Help to set up stalls and tidy up after events.
•Serve refreshments or supervise at the school disco
•Do you have a special talent? eg DJ, children’s entertainment, nail art, face painting, hair plaiting. You name it; we can make use of it!
•Ask your employer to donate Raffle Prizes (the more the better).
