Captain Tom 100 Challenge

Spread a message of hope and resilience and take part in Captain Tom 100 from Friday 30 April.

A year on from the day that the late Captain Sir Tom Moore, started his world-famous 100 laps of his garden, we celebrated Captain Tom's life, his generosity of spirit, the hope and joy he brought to millions and his sense of fun, by taking part in a new initiative over what would have been his 101st birthday weekend.

On Friday 30th April, all of the children at Bovey Tracey Primary School took part in Captain Tom 100. Each class teacher came up with a challenge based around the number 100 for their class to take part in. We completed our challenges for fun and to help spread Captain Tom's message of hope and resilience.

Hawkmoor's Challenge 100

In Hawkmoor on Friday 30th April 2021, we took part in Challenge 100 to spread Tom's message of hope and resilience. Miss Humphrey challenged us to run 100 laps of the school field. This would mean that we would need to run between 3 and 4 laps of the field each to accumulate 100 laps! We thought that was a lot to begin with but with the help of Mrs Prywata, Mrs Stoppard, Mrs Stone and Miss Humphrey, we ran a total of 416 laps of the field. We are incredibly proud of our efforts and cannot believe that we ran that far between us!

In Brimley, we did 100 star jumps, in four blocks,in the afternoon. Many of us found it really tiring, but we did not give up!
