At Bovey Tracey Primary School, our key values
· High Aspirations
· Excellence and Enjoyment
· Self Belief
help our children embrace challenge and become well-equipped for the world they live in. We empower our children and enable them to be creative, adaptable and powerful thinkers. After all, they are the decision makers and citizens of the future.
By inspiring, nurturing and challenging children, we create a culture of high expectations both across our curriculum and through their daily lives. We develop self belief, motivation and resilience as well as teaching the skills of collaboration and reflectiveness. Our approach to teaching tailors and personalises learning and addresses the needs of each child. We can pinpoint learning needs and support and challenge children in focused teaching groups. All children deserve a first rate education tailored to their personal needs. We have ensured that our creative curriculum continues to enable children to become immersed in learning across all areas, from science, ICT and technology to drama, art and history. Our Early Years have a fantastic outside area which enables our children to create, explore and discover, developing their curiosity and imagination.
The whole child is important to us. Parents and extended family have the opportunity to share in the achievements of their child as they join us for our ‘Celebration Assembly.’ Our 'Thrive Hive' helps develop children’s emotional needs more clearly.
We see ourselves as an integral part of the town and value the links we have with the community, including our 'Lunch Bunch' volunteers who help to serve monthly lunches to senior members of the community.
Year 6 children are able to apply to be a 'Buddy' to a new Reception child. The older children stick with them and help their confidence through their first year at school. When children feel safe and happy they can learn well.
